1. The service

Endgame is a chess-training web app: lessons, puzzles, drills, classic games, bots, online play and an optional Pro plan. You can use most of it without an account. The software is free software under the GNU GPL v3 or later (see source); these terms cover the hosted service, not your rights under that licence.

2. Age and accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.
• Give accurate sign-up information, keep your password private, and tell us if you think your account was used without permission. You are responsible for activity on your account.
• One person per account. Usernames that impersonate others, or are offensive, may be changed or removed.

3. Fair play and conduct

• Don't use engines, other people or any outside help during rated or online games, and don't manipulate ratings (for example by sandbagging, deliberate losses or playing against your own accounts).
• Don't harass other players, abuse chat or names, or attempt to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service beyond what the GPL source already gives you.
• Don't try to bypass Pro limits, payment, or security features.
• We may annul games, reset ratings, or suspend or close accounts that break these rules. If you think we got it wrong, email us and a person will review it.

4. Content

Lessons and commentary are original Endgame text. Puzzles come from the Lichess open database (CC0); classic games are public game records. Where a lesson says it is “inspired by” a creator, that creator has not endorsed, sponsored or reviewed Endgame. Training content is for education and fun; we make no promise about rating gains.

5. Endgame Pro

Pro is not on sale yet. When it is, these rules will apply:

• Pro is a subscription billed in advance (monthly or yearly) through our payment provider. Prices and what Pro includes are shown before you pay.
• It renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your account or by email; Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
• We will give at least 30 days' notice of a price change, and it will apply from your next renewal.

6. Refund policy

• 14-day no-questions refund on your first Pro payment: email us within 14 days and we will refund it in full.
• After that, payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise, or where the service was unavailable for a significant part of the period you paid for — then we refund the affected part.
• If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you have a statutory 14-day right to withdraw from the subscription; by starting to use Pro straight away you agree we may begin the service, and if you withdraw we refund the unused part.
• Refunds go back to the original payment method, normally within 10 business days.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep Endgame running but can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or remove features; if we remove a paid feature you rely on, we will offer a pro-rated refund. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app at least 14 days before they apply.

8. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Delete account. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms; for paid accounts we will refund the unused part unless the closure is for fraud or payment abuse.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or USD 50 if you paid nothing). Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.

10. Law and contact
