In the Berlin endgame Black has doubled c-pawns, the bishop pair and no queens; White has a kingside majority with a pawn on e5. In the Re1 lines the e-file opens and Black's pieces get active squares. In the d3 lines the classical e4/e5 structure stays intact.
Watch out: On the e-file, a knight or pawn standing between White's rook and your king is pinned. Never move it without checking for discovered checks.

Most games between club players are decided by a short tactic — a fork you didn't see, a pin you walked into, a back rank you forgot to air out. Endgame closes the loop: learn the pattern on the Path, use it against a bot, get graded, and drill the miss until it sticks.
