Popularity rank #26 of 64 · Endgame Pro defence · against 1.e4

In the Four Pawns, White has a huge but brittle centre and Black aims at it with ...Bf5, ...e6, ...Nc6 and an ...f6 or ...c5 break. In the Exchange lines the pawn structure becomes symmetrical or Caro-like. In the Modern, Black keeps one pawn on d6 or swaps it for an easy game.

Watch out: If you are slow to hit the centre, the pawns on c4, d4, e5 and f4 roll forward and cramp you. Play ...d6 and develop with purpose.

A chess trainer that remembers what you missed

Most games between club players are decided by a short tactic — a fork you didn't see, a pin you walked into, a back rank you forgot to air out. Endgame closes the loop: learn the pattern on the Path, use it against a bot, get graded, and drill the miss until it sticks.
