The Greek gift: Bxh7+

The bishop sacrifice on h7 works when four things line up: a bishop on d3, a knight that can reach g5, a queen that can reach h5, and no black knight on f6. A pawn on e5 helps a lot, because it keeps the knight away from f6 for good. After Bxh7+ Kxh7 Ng5+, every king move loses: going back to g8 runs into Qh5 with mate threats on h7, and stepping forward walks into a queen check. Before you sacrifice, check the defender that could take on g5. If a bishop on e7 or a queen on d8 can capture the knight safely, the attack usually fails.

A chess trainer that remembers what you missed

Most games between club players are decided by a short tactic — a fork you didn't see, a pin you walked into, a back rank you forgot to air out. Endgame closes the loop: learn the pattern on the Path, use it against a bot, get graded, and drill the miss until it sticks.
